Cherubs 2 ynfynyty LP
Really enjoying the Cherubs new LP. As good as their records from the early 90's.
Fantastic Fest 2015 my favorite film.
After 4 years I was finally able to attend Austin's Fantastic Fest, an awesome week of binge watching crazy and impressive movies that will be released over the next year or so. I saw 17 films in 4 days. My favorite film was "Liza and the Fox Fairy". A Hungarian fantasy film with a 60's style Japanese beat soundtrack. Because of the attention to production detail "Liza and the Fox Fairy" gets compared to "Amelie" and while they are both great films I think the Hungarian film has a darker sense of humor and is more imaginative.
Due to be released early 2016.

The Wachowski's Sense8 netflix series.
This blindsided me. I had no idea this was in the works. A new netflix series by the Wachowski Siblings. Co-written by J Michael Straczynski. Stars Bae Doona, Naveen Andrews, Freema Agyeman and Daryl Hannah. Looks pretty good.

Roar, 1981
This is a photo of cinematographer Jan de Bont after he was scalped by a lion while filming "Roar". I had never heard of the film until the news that Drafthouse films will be re-releasing this crazy film. As the trailer states "No animals where harmed in the making of this film" but the cast and crew took a beating.

Sleater Kinney
After two months of heavy rotation I have to declare that the new Sleaeter Kinney record is awesome.
Powers. Season 1, episode 1
The first episode of the Playstation network series Powers is available on youtube. The comic has been published since 1998 and is one of the best series produced in the last 20 years. The creators, Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming tell tough cop/crime stories in a world with super powered heroes and villians. The tv show does a good job of adapting the third graphic novel with parts of the first. The actors are good, Sharlto Copley is Walker, the main cop, ex hero. Eddie Izzard and Noah Taylor are some of the bad guys. The special effects are better than your average SyFy channel show. I probably won't sign up for the Playstation network but will consider buying the dvd box set.
Devil Hunters, Hong Kong 1989 good action film
Devil Hunters. A very good action film from Hong Kong in 1989. Lots of great action, but no devils, just gangsters. With Francis Ng, Ray Lui, Moon Lee and Sibelle Hu.
